Spottr for Members & lifters

Your training log. Your gym's timetable. One app.

Book the class, log the session, keep the history, even if you change gyms.

You are between sets with 40 seconds left and you cannot remember what you did last Tuesday.

The job, not the feature

Here today

built and working
  • Your last set, already there

Open any exercise and the weight and reps from last time are on screen. Nothing to look up, nothing to remember, nothing to scroll back through.

  • Works with no signal

Log a whole session in a basement. Sets save to your phone the instant you tap and sync themselves when you walk back out.

  • Records found for you

Heaviest lift, best estimated one-rep max, most reps, biggest set. Spottr watches all four and tells you the second you set one. Only real logged sets count, a record cannot be typed in.

  • Send a workout to anyone

One link. They open it with no account and see the whole thing. Sign up and it is in their app as their own copy. Yours stays yours.

Not yet

does not exist

Named rather than hinted at. Four of the thirteen platforms in this market will not tell you what they cost at all; none of them will tell you what they cannot do.

  • Every gym's timetable

You can find gyms and book classes that are on Spottr. Your gym's timetable is in here only if your gym is. Until it is, the log works completely on its own, it always has.

  • A public profile

There is no profile page, no followers and no feed. That is a decision, not a gap: the research on this category found social sitting in front of logging is the thing that kills logging apps.

And it stays yours

Your history leaves when you do

Your history is yours. One click on your account page downloads every set you have ever logged as a spreadsheet, on a free account, and on a lapsed one, because refusing to hand over somebody's own data is the loudest complaint in this whole category and we are not going to earn it.

What it costs

Your own training

Free

Logging, routines, the calendar, sharing, the directory and classes. Not a trial of these, and no card to start.

Depth, per person

$5.00/mo

Long-term progress charts and coaching a roster. No card to start, and everything else stays free. $50.00 a year if you prefer.

Coming from Hevy or Strong?

Your own training history imports, a delimited file, with you confirming which column is which before a row is written, free and with no subscription first. A list of other people does not yet, and pretending otherwise would be the first broken promise. What there is either way: nothing to unpick if you change your mind. Everything you put into Spottr comes back out as a spreadsheet, on any plan, including one that has lapsed, with one click and no support ticket.

  • Hevy
  • Strong
  • JEFIT
  • FitNotes
  • a notes app
  • a notebook

Bringing a list of people across is the biggest single blocker in this market, and it is being built. In the meantime there is something more useful than a promise: exactly which fields survive an export from your current platform, including the ones that do not, which is the list nobody else publishes.

The fair objection

“Another app my gym is making me get.”

Then judge it on the days your gym is shut. It is a training log first and it was built for someone with no gym software at all, no account needed to open a workout someone sends you, free for your own training, and everything you log comes out as a spreadsheet whenever you want it. If your gym leaves Spottr, your history does not.
